So, what is a Record Company?

Record Companies (or Labels) are people who scour the world looking for potential in artists and bands for releases to be put out to the public masses. They make records, mostly in the form of CD’s and digital downloads these days. Their other income sources come from merchandise, tours and synch opportunities in TV and Film. Cutting a long story short, the process involves an artist signing an agreement for an album, or maybe a number of albums to which will be released through the Record Company.
